When autumn and winter come round, mice do all they can to get into homes and cottages to live and to eat whatever they can find, which is usually insulation, plastic, cables, pretty well everything.
The attic is often a typical habitat for mice, as it is often easy to get there, and then they can usually move on to walls and floors. Summer homes are often a winter hotel for mice without anyone knowing anything, so you should have traps there. Put the trap alongside a wall or in a corner, as that is where the mice will go.
